My name is Jakub Kopciński. I've graduated from linguistics at the University of Warsaw - I know English and Russian. I've been teaching for 8 years. I've completed the CELTA course - a teaching course certified by the University of Cambridge. I continue to develop my English through conversations with a native speaker and trips abroad. I have worked in Poland, Great Britain and Malta.
My English is a simple, easy-to-understand, modern American - what you hear in the media. I make my classes engaging: I arrange discussions on various topics, speaking exercises, debates, scenes, story-telling... My main mantra is that the lesson should be for students, not for the teacher. In a good lesson, they should be in the spotlight, not the teacher. The students do their tasks and projects while the teacher is listening, helping and inspiring. Passive listening to the lecturer and taking notes doesn't teach much, which is why so many of us still have problems with fluency. Sign up for a course and make your English better!
Hello there!
How do I work?
I use the Google Meet platform. You can always log in to classes conveniently through your calendar or an e-mail with an invitation .
All materials and lesson notes can be found in your Google Drive folder. Always in one place, accessible from any device.
I teach individually or in groups of up to 4 people. A small composition guarantees good communication and the teacher's attention.
We settle accounts once a month based on an invoice. We do not sign any contract, you can resign from the classes with a 1-month notice.
Thanks to the fact that the classes are online, you save time. Many people take online lessons to ease the stress that often occurs when speaking a foreign language.
If you want to see how I teach first, you have the option to take a 30-minute trial lesson and then make a decision.
If you run a business, you can include our cooperation as a business expense.
I usually issue invoices once a month, but I’m flexible if needed.
We agree on a set number of lessons per month. If you know in advance that you won’t be able to attend on a certain day, we can easily reschedule the lesson.
What do I offer?
I run three types of courses. Choose the one that suits your needs best, click and contact me and we will arrange a trial lesson!
Let's Talk! -
speaking course

"Let's Talk" is my best-selling course.
Passive knowledge of English is incredibly common these days. We're surrounded by English content—movies, series, blogs, books. It’s hard not to start understanding it, at least partially. But English isn't just about culture anymore. It speaks to us through technology, through the mouths of our employers, ads, and even newspaper headlines. We end up understanding a lot. So why is it still so hard to speak? Because understanding and speaking are two entirely different skills. To learn how to speak, you need to talk to someone and hear someone talking directly to you.
A good one-on-one course may make it possible.

Business English.
Be fluent at work
Many of us deal with work English in our professional lives. This is why I've created my Business English course. It's also a conversational course, but enriched with business phrases. Speaking exercises are composed into the professional context here to get you used to English-speaking meetings, presentations, or even small talk in breaks from your duties.

Grammar Review - to ensure correctness
I've developed the Grammar Review course based on your grammar needs. Nowadays, many of us already speak English, we have no problem with the vocabulary - the problem starts when you have to form a correct sentence. Then we are often not sure if we are doing it right. My practice shows that the reason is simple - American movies, our English-speaking friends or colleagues do not teach us grammar. Grammar Review has been developed especially for those who want to put their knowledge in order and start using their vocabulary confidently and error-free. Correctness isn't overrated!

What do my clients say about me?
FAQ
Is learning online effective at all?
Yes. Internet contact is good enough to let us learn English effectively. Thanks to the fact that we meet online, we have access to many resources that are not available in the classroom - e.g. an online board, which is simply a text file in Google Docs that we create and edit together. You get access to it at any time and on any device. Sharing video and audio files and discussing them in real time has also never been as simple as it is now. Since I've been teaching online, students have started coming to classes more often, and they cancel less. Now that they don't have to waste time commuting, it's easier to arrange everything. I'm also more flexible than I used to be; it's easier to reschedule and make up for classes.
How do I pay? Do I have to sign a contract?
No. I charge my students on a monthly invoice basis: we simply agree on a certain number of classes per month at the beginning of the course, and this number appears on the monthly invoice. We can terminate our course from month to month. If you use company co-financing, I may invoice the company. In the case of groups, I send invoices to each participant or to one person (if you know each other).
What frequency of classes do I suggest?
It depends. In my opinion, going to classes as often as possible won't necessarily improve your language. Most students see me once or twice a week, usually for an hour. It's important to carefully verify your intentions and not throw yourself into a large number of classes that you later won't have time to attend. Plus, most of the learning process takes place in practice. You need the teacher to make the whole thing regular, suggest new words and correct your mistakes (which doesn't happen when you socialise with your English-speaking friends).
Learning with your teacher AND introducing English into your private life is the best solution.
How to learn?
I invariably answer: based on your own linguistic experience. What is this? Let me explain. It's everything you've talked about, that you've described - events, things, actions - in a real conversation with another person. For example, a conversation with a teacher. The words that we write down and translate during our classes will go down in your memory much deeper than artificially prepared wordlists. Because that's how our brain works - it remembers the things it needed to cope with a new situation. Besides, I encourage you to view the course more as an inspiration to use English in your real life, outside the classroom. Only then will you really develop - you should learn for yourself, not for the teacher. Also, the student-centred teaching style is all about learning through projects not without a reason - your brain remembers its own ideas better.
Are online classes different from traditional classes?
Yes. For sure, online communication is not as free and spontaneous as in the real world, especially in the case of groups. However, provided that all participants are fully present - they have their cameras turned on and, if possible, do not move away from the computer during the class - the virtual world allows you to become friends too. My online clients who I've been working with for years are the best proof of that. o I've been working with for years are the best proof of that.
